Nutrition Coaching

We believe that nutrition should be simple! We know there is a myriad of misleading information on diet and nutrition with different sources offering different viewpoints – some of which will have diluted our understanding of the food basics. Restrictive eating, fad dieting and well marketed meal replacement products may promise quick, amazing results but can be to the detriment of our long term health. We also know that no one wants to eat foods they hate!

After an initial consultation where we gather information about your current dietary habits, nutritional intake and your attitudes towards food. We can then guide and coach you to achieve a healthy, balanced dietary approach to run alongside and assist your goals.

Whilst we have a positive view on supplementation products, our nutrition guidance is based around quality whole foods as in our experience this approach leads to sustainability when trying to achieve body composition and weight loss goals. We therefore treat supplements as an nutritional insurance to complement a healthy diet and lifestyle.

How it works:

Food Diary Analysis 
Step one in change is understanding exactly where you are at the moment. Food diary analysis is a great tool if its undertaken honestly and accurately. Using your diary we can provide practical recommendations that are completely tailored to you, your current position and your future aims and goals.

Macronutrient Targets
Nutritional recommendations we provide you will be centered around ensuring you are getting the right macronutrients – by which we mean the right balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat in your diet. Getting this combination right can help maximise fat loss, ensure you have enough fuel for training sessions, the right supply of overall energy and that you are receiving the right nutrients to support healthy recovery between workouts.

Customised Meal Plans
We can work with you to provide an easy to follow eating framework based around your personal preferences – whether that’s three large meals a day or whether you prefer to eat little and often. Having a plan is key. It helps you stay on track, helps avoid poor meal choices and will give you confidence that you’re ‘getting it right’. We’ll make it easy to follow – something that’s especially important in the early stages of a new regime.

Training Advice
One size does not fit all body types, ages or goals. It doesn’t matter where you’re coming from or going to, we’ll propose realistic goals based on the time you can commit to exercise. We’ll incorporate your preferences – whether that’s gym, classes, playing sport or home workouts, whilst pushing you when we believe you need it and are ready for it.

Supplement Recommendations
Sports supplements can aid progress, ‘fill gaps’ in your diet and help optimize results from training and exercise. We can provide a list of evidence based products. From Informed Sport who certify all their products to ensure they are safe and you are too.
